This module is concerned with corporate governance mechanisms and practices and their impact on corporate performance and business practices. The module addresses how good corporate governance practices can ensure that a company or business is run efficiently and effectively, improve financial performance, as well as satisfy the needs of various stakeholder groups including investors, customers, suppliers and society at large.
You will also cover the main types of corporate governance and control mechanisms and practices in corporations and businesses, analyse the pressing business and societal challenges such as discrimination, climate change, and inequality and how corporate governance can help tackle these challenges, and explain recent corporate governance initiatives and their potential impact on companies' performance and the relationship between managers and stakeholders.
