University celebrates LGBT History Month

is being marked at our University with a myriad of events from 12 to 28 February.

The University has been rated as one of the top 100 employers in Stonewall’s Workplace index. Leicester was , a jump of more than 200 places, which highlights the fantastic work which has taken place across the University.

Alongside the events that the , the University is hosting talks, gaming, a quiz, discussions, workshops, performance and film screenings.

Dr Kate Williams, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Equality and Diversity at the University, said: “This past year has seen a huge amount of activity on campus to celebrate our LGBT+ staff and students. Being ranked 44th in Stonewall’s Top 100 Employers is fantastic recognition of the efforts to make the University a truly welcoming environment for all and we look forward to building on that achievement.

“Colleagues have put together a really interesting and varied programme of events for LGBT+ History Month again this year and I would encourage everyone to come along to these events and get involved.  By working together, we can realise our ambition to make the University a truly inclusive place to work and study.â€
