My undergraduate degree in geophysics was completed at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ. During this time I developed interest in coding and in the use of numerical models to model Earth processes. I pursued this interest with an MSc in Computing at Keele University and went on to complete a PhD in structural geology at Imperial College. My PhD work focussed on the analysis of the connectivity of fracture networks using multifractal methods and the investigation of the effect sampling has on power-law distributions. 
After a career break to raise a family, I returned to research and to the Â鶹ÊÓƵ as a Daphne Jackson Research Fellow. This post was joint funded by NERC and the Â鶹ÊÓƵ. My research focussed on the elastic response of vesicular volcanic rocks to compression using the finite element method. I also collaborated on the development of numerical models of volcanic sill emplacement. I am currently a geophysics Teaching Fellow.

My research interests are in structural geology igneous intrusions rock physics and geomechanics. I use quantitative computer simulations to model rock deformation and the effect of rock anisotropies on the stress response.
