Indu is the Program Director (Academic) for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology program, where she provides academic leadership and oversees the development of trainee clinical psychologists. She holds doctoral-level training in Clinical Psychology as well as a PhD in Psychology. Her clinical expertise lies in the area of neurodiversity. She works within the Neurodevelopmental Specialist Services at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, delivering specialist assessments and post-diagnostic support for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions. She has over a decade of impactful research experience in autism, with a focus on social differences, the presentation of anxiety in autism, and the use of technology for screening and assessment. Her research has advanced understanding and practice in these areas, contributing to improved outcomes for autistic individuals. Throughout her career, Indu has taught in several higher education and on professional psychology programs, demonstrating a strong commitment to training the next generation of clinicians and researchers. With her combined expertise in clinical practice, research, and academic leadership, she continues to work at the intersection of scholarship and practice, shaping the field of clinical psychology and advancing care for neurodivergent populations.

Indu is passionate about exploring presentation and management of co-occurring conditions with autism. She is developing tasks that help quantifying subjective experiences of autistic people.

Indu is associate principal investigator in a multi-site clinical trial (SNAPPER), funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), that evaluates medication efficacy for managing ADHD when co-occurring with severe mental health conditions.

She is supervising a doctoral research project in partnership with De Montfort University and Maternity Services Leicester, NHS Trust, investigating disparities in health outcomes among Black mothers—a critical area for developing culturally informed healthcare.

In collaboration with clinical academics at the Bangor University, Wales, Indu is co-developing a digital cognitive assessment battery for patients with long-term mental health challenges.

Indu has established a research network within Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Service, where she lead strategic initiatives, foster partnerships with universities, and mentor clinical staff in conducting research projects.

Indu's international work includes leading projects with Delhi University, India, exploring cultural influences on language preferences for autism.
