Profile
Mafalda began her career as a Diagnostic Radiographer in 2014 after completing a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography at the School of Health, Porto, Portugal. She went on to achieve an MSc in Radiography (CT and MRI) at Birmingham City University in 2023, further strengthening her expertise in advanced imaging. In 2025, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic and Professional Practice (PGCAPP) at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ, reflecting her commitment to both clinical excellence and academic development.
In 2015, Mafalda expanded her professional experience by working in Budapest, Hungary, where she focused exclusively on MRI. Since 2016, she has been part of the NHS, specialising in CT Colonography and Musculoskeletal MRI, areas in which she has developed significant expertise. She is the current Chair of the Society of Radiographers Magnetic Resonance Advisory Group (MRAG).
Since 2022, she combines her Diagnostic Radiography Lecturer role at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ with a Senior Cross-Sectional Radiographer clinical role at the University Hospitals of Leicester.
