Yakun Ju is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Computer Science at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences. Previously, he served as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Yakun earned his Bachelor's degree from Sichuan University in 2016 and his Ph.D. from Ocean University of China in 2022. His research interests span 3D reconstruction, medical image processing, underwater information perception, computational imaging, and low-level vision. He has authored over 50 publications in top-ranked journals and conferences, including IEEE TPAMI, IJCV, IEEE TIP, IEEE TVCG, IEEE TCSVT, CVPR, NeurIPS, AAAI, and IJCAI, etc. Yakun also contributes as an associate editor for Applied Soft Computing (ASOC) and Neruocomputing, as well as an guest editor for Pattern Recognition (PR) and Computer Vision and Image Understanding (CVIU).

His general research interests mainly focus on the areas of computer vision, with the following research topics:
- 3D Reconstruction: Photometric Stereo, Structure from Motion, Binocular Stereo, Monocular Depth Estimation, Mesh Reconstruction, 3D Gaussian Splatting
- Medical Image Processing: Retina Reconstruction, Spine Segmentation, Brain Segmentation
- Underwater Information Perception: Underwater Objects Reconstruction, Sonar Reconstruction, Underwater Image Restoration, Sonar-Camera Fusion, Marine Remote Sensing
- Computational Imaging: CT/THZ/Hyperspectral Images Reconstruction, Image Super-resolution, Low-light Enhancement, Image Deraining/Denoising/Warping/Re-lighting, Image Rendering
