Funding

The College allocation will provide funding for ONE 3.5 year studentship.

This will consist of 100% of the stipend at UKRI levels (currently £20,780) over a period of 3.5 years.

Research costs of £1.5k per annum, and travel and training (RTSG) funds of £1.5k per annum, will be available for 3 years. Higher research costs of £5K per annum can be made available for lab-based research if required. 

Entry requirements

These studentships are open only to applicants studying one of the following courses at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ, with a start date of January 2025.

• MSc Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology
• MSc Molecular Genetics

Applicants must have achieved (or be predicted to achieve) an overall distinction grade in the MSc, and a distinction grade in the MSc project.
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ English language requirements apply where applicable.

How to apply

Prospective students are required to identify a suitable PhD supervisor, and agree a project title and project outline with their proposed supervisor. You can browse supervisor research areas here. 

With your application, please include:

• CV
• Personal statement explaining your interest in studying for a PhD, your experience and why we should consider you
• Degree Certificates and Transcripts of study already completed and if possible, transcript to date of study currently being undertaken
• Evidence of English language proficiency if applicable
• In the reference section please enter the contact details of your two academic referees in the boxes provided or upload letters of reference if already available.
• In the funding section please specify that you wish to be considered for the “MSc MG/CCMB 2025 studentship”
  
  In the proposal section please provide the name of the supervisor(s), project title, and a brief project proposal outline of up to 500 words.
