Overview
One PhD scholarship, starting January 2026, is available competitively to a student recruited to the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ MSc Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology or MSc Molecular Genetics and registered in the January 2025 intake.
Notes on the scholarship:
One PhD scholarship is available to a student recruited to the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ MSc Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology or MSc Molecular Genetics in January 2025.
The PhD scholarship will be available from January 2026 on completion of the MSc course and consist of a full stipend (currently £20,780 per year) for 3.5 yrs, research costs and a travel and training fund. It will attract a home fee waiver, with a full international fee waiver available competitively.
Visa and NHS supplement fees are not included.
In the absence of an international fee waiver, overseas students are expected to fund the difference in cost between the home and basic international fee. The scholarship award will be conditional on an overall Distinction in the MSc and receipt of an equivalent assessment in their research project.
And a bit about process:Scholarship applicants will be interviewed by a College panel including the Director of Post-graduate Research and Director of Taught Postgraduates or their Deputies. A call for potential PhD projects will be undertaken and applicants will also be able to develop a project with a CLS academic member of staff. Any project must be within the strategic research priorities of the College.
